Göttingen, January 8, 2025

What do we do when we sponsor a football tournament? We go there and check it out. Once again, a small group set off, this time for Göttingen.

The largest U19 indoor football tournament in Europe takes place there every year. However, more about that next time. Today is about the tournament before the tournament – the company cup. Or rather, the vision2facts Company Cup! As the new naming sponsor of this event, we didn’t really know what to expect – except that 20 sponsors each provide a football team that competes against each other.

For months, we prepared in any way we could – we designed a sponsor logo, ordered a roll-up banner, drafted social media posts, and coordinated with the organizers on layouts, processes, and the conditions on site.

Finally, on the afternoon of January 8, 2025, we arrived at the Lokhalle in Göttingen and were a bit overwhelmed. In our wildest dreams we would not have imagined it to be THIS BIG! Wow! First things first – we had to find a suitable spot for the massage table. Lisa, our personal-trainer-masseuse, came with us so she could massage the players’ sore muscles.

Eventually, we decided on a spot at a corner of the playing field. Once everything was set up, it was time to go – everyone wanted to enjoy a free massage. Lisa gave it her all! But then… everything went differently than planned. Suddenly, a football hit Lisa’s temple so hard that she felt dizzy. After a quick check, she seemed to be fine, and the massages continued.

Thomas, Sophie, and I watched the games, took a guided tour of the venue, and discussed the check-in process for the next day with the event team. The best moment of the evening, however, was when the stadium announcer introduced vision2facts for the first time as the new sponsor – goosebump moment! Throughout the evening, we also admired the fruits of our (creative) work – vision2facts appeared everywhere. It was very cool!

The second highlight of the evening was the award ceremony. Thomas and I had the honor of presenting the trophies to the 1st to 4th place winners. The Göttingen Police team was crowned the champion!

The lowlight of the day: we had to pick up poor Lisa from the university hospital! As her condition worsened throughout the evening, she was sent there by the Red Cross for monitoring due to a suspected concussion. After an amazing day filled with so many new impressions, we all fell asleep in our hotel beds.

Good night,
Susi

Sound on for goose bumps!
