Sometimes it doesn’t take much to make a real difference. That’s why we didn’t have to think twice when the organizers of the Girl Power Weekend asked us for financial support for this year’s camp. Confident girls discovering their strengths + lots of fun + new encounters – it’s a win-win situation for everyone! This contact has also opened up great opportunities for our next team event. We’ll tell you more about that soon. ;)
Read all about the girls’ camp adventures in the organizers’ press release below.
Under the motto “Girl Power,” twelve girls from the region enjoyed an unforgettable weekend full of fun, creativity, and self-confidence at the Deutschbaselitz Adventure Camp from June 13-15, 2025. This special event was organized in cooperation between the Westlausitz regional team of the Netzwerk für Kinder- und Jugendarbeit e. V. (Network for Child and Youth Work) and dedicated social workers from various schools in Pulsnitz, Bischofswerda, and Kamenz.
On Friday evening, a colorful non-alcoholic welcome cocktail and fun games helped to break the ice. Knowing each other’s names and hometowns sparked the first sense of community. Participants were able to let their imaginations run wild with various creative activities on Saturday: glasses were painted in bright colors and individual necklaces were designed – small works of art to remember a great weekend. They also made small “robot keychains.” using a cordless screwdriver. Only for boys? Not at all! The girls quickly realized that it’s not that difficult if you just give it a try. Fire hose bowling and small first aid exercises rounded off the program.
However, the most important part of the program was the self-assertion workshop with Kathrin Franke and the team from the Asia Budo Club “Bushido” e. V. from Pulsnitz. Here, the girls learned how to act confidently and defend themselves with simple strategies. The exercises not only strengthened their physical fitness, but above all the self-confidence of each girl. The weather was awesome, so the girls ventured into the pond, rowed an inflatable dinghy for the first time, and tried stand-up paddling – a real adventure! Meanwhile, their phones often slipped their minds.
This empowering weekend was made possible by financial support from hubFactory nextLevel GmbH and donations in kind from the Tafel Kamenz e. V. We would like to express our sincere thanks to the donors for their generous support! We are delighted that you have made this unforgettable weekend possible! At the end of the weekend, all the girls returned home empowered, with new friendships and many wonderful memories. It was a weekend full of girl power that will be remembered for a long time to come!
