As in the previous year, we packed our bags this January and headed to Göttingen. That was exactly where the REWE Junior Cup took place, and as the main sponsor of the Company Cup, vision2facts of course wanted to be present.

We were warmly welcomed upon arrival; after all, we already knew quite a few people from the year before. Our delegation was, of course, well-rehearsed: a few organizational matters were quickly taken care of, and at around 5 p.m. the eagerly anticipated vision2facts Company Cup 2026 began.

This time, we once again brought plenty of equipment. In addition to all the photography gear, we also had a massage table with us, and our Jana — who enjoys proving herself flexibly in three different roles — was frequently called upon by the players as a massage therapist. But back to the game.

Exciting rallies, plenty of goals and, of course, the fans in the stands created a great atmosphere and an entertaining evening. A total of 48 matches had to be played. In the first semi-final between the police and Stadtwerke & EAM, the score was tied after regular time, so the decision went to a penalty shootout, in which last year’s winners, the police team, had to concede defeat. The second semi-final was won by Novelis in a nail-biter, 2–1 against Continental, sending them into the final.

In the end, the best of the best battled it out until the winner of the vision2facts Company Cup was finally determined. This year, the trophy went to the team from Stadtwerke Göttingen & EAM, who crowned themselves vision2facts Company Cup champions.

By then, it was already late, and we were all a little relieved to arrive at the hotel. After some pleasant conversations at the hotel bar — where most of the participants and staff of the REWE Junior Cup were also staying — we went up to our rooms. Admittedly, it was a short night, because the next day the REWE Junior Cup began with many international players. But more on that in our next post.
